Self-care: selfish?

College is stressful. Ridiculously stressful. As soon as one assignment is finished, there is a whole stack of work waiting for us to do. It seems like an endless cycle of responsibilities that will never be completed, an infinite abundance of papers, assignments, and stress.

Dealing with stress can be overwhelming, especially when society and people in our lives have made out self care to be selfish. Self-care is much needed for people to be able to be happy, healthy, productive members in society; if you can't do what's best for you, then you surely can't do what's best for others. Being good to yourself leads to you being good to all of the people you encounter in your life.

This blog is going to go over different ways you can de-stress and take care of yourself while dealing with a busy school schedule, reminders and encouragement that self-care is a selfless act, along with some of the stressful experiences I've had so far in college, and how I handled the stress that came with them.  I will share free or very inexpensive (because let's face it, we're all broke here) ways to take care of yourself and treat yo self. If anyone has any suggestions of what they would like to see in this blog please feel free to reach out to me!

Until next time, peace!
